Consumer-grade UX for Enterprise LMS platform

Objective: We were asked to better understand where the existing learning management systems were falling short with our customers, and where Workday could enter the space with a new and innovative product that our customers would get excited to sign up for.

The Problem
The existing LMS’s on the market were compliance driven, hard to use, and the content was delivered within Scorm packages that were outdated and stale.

Scope

Talking to a cross section of employees of different companies and industries in order to observe how they were using their existing LMS’s and where the major pain points were. We held onsite observational interviews, brainstorms, stakeholder workshops to see how existing practices could be adapted and improved to work better for the real users of an Enterprise Learning Solution.

Results

The solution involved understanding the target user types of an LMS and the key tasks that they were expecting to be able to do within the product. We created a set of personas, design principles, and insights that drove the design of the product.

Impact

We launched a new Learning product that has added over 200 customers. We acquired a learning company in Victoria, added a large development and design team in Dublin, and added hundreds of jobs.
